“Contains Wheat” indicates that the product contains wheat or a wheat derived ingredient. Wheat derived ingredients do NOT necessarily contain detectable gluten.

Some ingredients that are wheat derived are highly processed and gluten (protein portion) is removed, rendering them suitable for a gluten free diet.

If you see a declaration of ‘Contains: Wheat’ (in the absence of ‘Contains: Gluten’), means that product is suitable for gluten free consumption and labelling. Wheat and Gluten are declared as separate allergens because they are different.

Under Australian law a gluten free product must be tested regularly, and no detectable gluten is to be found. All Buderim Ginger products that display the “GF logo” comply with this requirement.

Please also refer to the nutritional information panel at the back of the pack, under the protein/gluten section that reads – NOT DETECTED.
